Shirell A. Gross, Esq. is the Vice-President/ Head of Law Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Radiology (medical device and pharmaceutical products) supporting Americas, and globally Product Supply, Regulatory, Quality and Informatics (software business). She believes it is imperative women accept and appreciate themselves in order to successfully navigate future challenges. In this regard, she is currently writing a book about “Ambition” which is partly a memoir as the child of a single teenage mother.
She also sits on medical device trade association AdvaMed’s Board Legal Committee. Previously, she was Head of Law for Bayer Diabetes Care. Her prior positions were at Quest Diagnostics, Aaronson, Rappaport, Feinstein and Deutsch and Bronx District Attorney.
She received her B.S. from Northeastern University and J.D. from Hofstra University. During college and law school she served in various leadership roles including President of the Black Students Association in college and President of the Black Law Students Association while in law school.
Shirell has received numerous awards including recently recognized as one of Savoy Magazine’s 2018 Most Influential Black Lawyers, Black Doctors.org’s Top Blacks in Healthcare, Hofstra University School of Law Outstanding Woman of Law, and a Women of Excellence by NJ State Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter.
Shirell is committed to helping Women of Color reach both their personal and professional goals. As a result, she frequently speaks on personal development and diversity with a special focus on self-awareness and resilience.
Shirell recognizes the importance of service to the community through fundraising and direct service. She is Vice-Chair of WNET Advisory Board where she has spearheaded programs that bring station programing to underserved communities. She is also a Sunday school teacher for Women, mentors young women, a member of Jack and Jill of America Inc (Past Chapter President and other regional and national roles) and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
She is married to Jazz Musician and Educator Mark Gross Sr and they have 2 sons ages Caleb (14) and Mark Jr, (22).
