    Cari Dawson is a creative problem solver, legal strategist, and committed advocate. She chairs the Class Action and MDL Practice Team and has a winning track record defending Fortune 500 companies as lead counsel in high-profile enterprise litigation throughout the United States. Cari regularly assists clients in the areas of commercial litigation, strategic counseling, and crisis management.

    Cari was named as one of the top female litigators in the United States by Benchmark Litigation in the publication’s 2017 edition of the “Top 250 Women in Litigation,” which honors the achievements of female litigators nationwide. She is one of only five female litigators from the state of Georgia highlighted by Benchmark Litigation. This is the third time Dawson has been recognized by the publication, which offered the following commentary: “Dawson has developed a practice defending hundreds of class actions in a variety of industry sectors.”  Peers praise Dawson’s work, stating ‘it’s impeccable. Her methods, her guidance … it never fails.’”  In 2018, Cari was honored by the National Black Law Students Association, who recognized her with its Sadie T.M. Alexander Women in Leadership Award. 

    Chambers USA has consistently named Cari to their list of “The Best Lawyers in America.” In 2015, Cari was named one of the country’s “Most Influential Black Lawyers” by Savoy Magazine, and in 2014, she was named one of the “Most Powerful & Influential Women” by the National Diversity Council. In 2013, the National Law Journal named Cari one of the “100 Most Influential Lawyers in America” for her work as lead class action counsel in the Toyota Unintended Acceleration MDL.

    Cari currently serves as co-chair of the Firm’s Diversity Steering Committee and is passionate about enhancing diversity and inclusion within the legal profession. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Commercial Law Section of the National Bar Association and is on the Board of Directors of The Atlanta Women’s Foundation
